Well, at the end of Acts, Paul sits in house government house. Protected by guards, just sharing the word. That seems like a lot of sitting to me. Count your blessings. Name them one by one. But what do I know, I am having a really rough time right now.
I've actually started going through the Gospels and highlighting things where Jesus "ministers". I want to see how it is Jesus made disciples. I'm not finished yet, but it's really interesting so far. I see a few main categories so far: praying (a lot), situation-based teaching, teaching on the Sabbath, helping people physically, and taking His disciples along through a lot of it.
I'm there with you though bro, often wondering what ministry should look like. I think it's basically following Jesus and helping others follow Jesus. And you do that well. It's good to hear your thoughts.
Josh and Darin, thanks for your words. The reality is, ministry is different for everyone. As the last Narnia movie said so well, "It never happens the same way twice." If God is so diverse in the ways he approaches people (with Arks, Tablets, Prophets, and Fallen Walls), I assume that his workers also would approach ministry from different angles. Fact is, we are all different. Very cool conversation.
