Getting Animated

This post is just one to say that I miss there being cartoons on TV that are innocent, with a positive message. Yes, I know that there are still good cartoons out there. However, I never fail to be amazed at how far society has come. Sure, I recall Daffy Duck sticking his head in a noose and Bugs Bunny exploding Elmer Fudd with TNT. I know that violence in cartoons has come a long way. However, I am sick and tired of cartoons with hidden sexual messages in their stories. Likewise, I'm sick of seeing divorce and disrespect in families as presented by cartoons. Sure, I've got no problem (on some level) with teaching our kids about diversity, but there are lines that need to be drawn (literally). Don't believe me? Watch some cartoons and you'll see it too. Call me crazy, but I just don't want my kids to be subconsciously taught about sexuality or that living with a single parent is an ideal situation. So, that's my frustration. Now you know... and knowing is half the battle!
