It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
I suppose the problem is that none of us actually believe that we are sick. That's why we have such a hard time finding Jesus. That's why we fail to see the mission he has called us to. That's why we judge our neighbors and hate our brothers. If we knew we were sick, we'd surly have a renewed approach to this world. Maybe we'd act faithfully and humbly, without the self delusion that the world needs me, like I've got it all figured out. Yes, everyone now days is healthy. Where are the sick?

I've been thinking the same thing a lot lately. Realizing you're sick has to be one of the first things you do to become a Christian, yet somehow many of us miss that part. Or when we start feeling healthy, we think we did it ourselves or that we deserved it.
Good job with the blog man. I like the short posts with a single thought - it's encouraging and really easy to read. You should think about archiving them somehow or something.
We talked about this in small groups on Sunday. It's easier to believe in our need for God when we've been torn down. When things are going well we can overlook and explain away our weaknesses and our need.
I've seen far too often that when I'm convinced I'm healthy, I really start failing miserably. I'm still looking for the balance between being convinced and confident, while remaining grounded and grateful. This is a tough balance to find.
Thank you both for your good words!
